The Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary, is one of Ireland’s most spectacular historical sites. Towering over the town of Cashel, the rock was the seat of Munster kings from the end of the 4th century until 1101. St Patrick converted King Aenghus to Christianity here in the 5th century and Brian Boru was crowned King of Munster here in 977, and was later crowned High King of Ireland in 1002.
