Briar Rose is a charming, thatched cottage set in the beautiful Blackwater Valley near Aglish Village, County Waterford. A famine cottage, with a traditional half door, Briar Rose has been lovingly restored and now has two bedrooms and everything needed for a home-from-home stay. When guests arrive they will find a welcome cup of tea and a biscuit or some homemade bread. There are also plenty of DVDs if guests want to enjoy a night in, and the fire will be set and ready in case there is a chill in the air. The fitted kitchen is compact and functional, with a small window that looks out to the rear garden. There are also many local restaurants for those evenings out. Briar Rose cottage is within walking distance of the local village with its shop, pub, petrol station and church. There is excellent shopping in both Cork and Waterford and possible excursions include Lismore Castle, Kilkenny Castle, the Rock of Cashel and the Jameson Centre in Midleton. Just a short drive away, the Comeragh Mountains are an area of outstanding beauty and are ideal for nature lovers and walkers, with beautiful waterfalls, woods and unspoilt lakes. For more adventurous travellers, there are water sports and adventure centres, golf courses and horse riding within a 15km radius. No pets allowed.
