Carbury Cottage is a lovingly restored stone cottage 3km from the picturesque village of Adare. It is surrounded by green fields with a large enclosed garden ideal for children to play. The garden features its own orchard where apples can be picked during the autumn.It is close to a range of activities and a very central location for touring. The cottage has kept its original galleries which adds an old world charm while all modern comforts have been installed. It is 12 miles from Limerick city with its cinemas, shopping and amenities. Bright, airy and fully equipped, it is decorated to a high standard. Midway between the wild beauty of Galway and the splendour of Kerry is the picturesque village of Adare. This village features two 18 hole golf courses and the Irish Open is being held here from 2007-2010. Ballybunion links course is within an hour's drive. The village itself is a step back in time with its traditional thatched cottages and has three Abbeys - Augustinian, Franciscan, and Trinitarian dating back to the 13th century. With a selection of pubs and many fine restaurants, it is a great touring base for surrounding areas such as Killarney, The Ring of Kerry, The Dingle Peninsula, Bunratty Castle and folk park, and the Cliffs of Moher. Fishing, horseriding, golf, pitch and putt, karting are just some of the acitivities which all all within a couple of miles of the cottage. The owners operate a dairy and sheep farm just up the road and pet lambs can be fed or baby calves viewed during the spring while in the summer they may be peering over the hedge looking in at you eating your breakfast!
