Glenmore Cottage, is an award winning three star self catering traditional old-world farm cottage at the foot of Slieve Foy, near Carlingford in County Louth. This recently refurbished delightful white-washed building dates back to pre-1800s and is surrounded by wonderfully peaceful open countryside. It is a perfect rural retreat from which to explore the lovely Cooley Penninsula. Built in a traditional style, the cottage has three bedrooms: one double, one with a double and a single bed and one twin room. There is also a cosy sitting room with solid fuel stove and TV. There is also a bathroom with shower and a shower room. The newly fitted kitchen features a dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, fridge and microwave. Glenmore Cottage is situated in the heart of the Cooley Peninsula, which is located north of Dundalk. The Cooley Penninsula is little known thus totally unspoiled with magnificent views of mountains, sea, and valleys. Nearby Medieval Carlingford has a lot to see, including the views of 14th Century Johns Castle, Dominican Abbey, The Mint, has interesting pubs and lovely restaurants and holds the tidy town award. Glenmore Cottage is only 20 minutes from Newry City and Dundalk and only an hour’s drive from Belfast or Dublin.
