What’s it all about?
Gliding to victory in the Volvo Ocean Race is as much a test of sailing skill and precision design, as it is a testament to the precarious will of the world’s seas and oceans. Taking in ports as far afield as Singapore, Brazil and Boston, Leg 9 will see these magnificently designed vessels swarming their way into Galway Harbour to tremendous fanfare and applause. Having already completed 5,550 Nautical Miles before arriving at the West Coast city, the atmosphere amongst sailors and landlubbers alike will be electric.
