Seeing the Stallions
Want to find out how the multi-million horse-breeding industry works? Welcome to the land of the horse
A great way to appreciate the power, strength and beauty of Ireland’s famous stallions is to visit the National Stud, just outside Kildare. The Stud encompasses 958 acres of land and has 288 boxes for mares, foals and stallions.
Apart from the stud, there's also a visitor centre, picturesque Japanese Gardens, and the very pretty St Fiachra’s Garden with stunning woodlands, wetlands, lakes and islands, which are well worth a look.
