Murroe —County Limerick

Village in the wooded Slieve Felim mountains area which was build by the landlord Barrington family, whose Windsor Castle-style residence built in the 1930s became the Glenstal Abbey monastery and boarding school from 1926. Founder of the Muintir na Tire rural community development organisation, Canon Hayes was born in Murroe which is close to the deep-hearted Clare Glens gorge and woodland walks.
