Bank hours

Banks are open from 9am-4pm Monday to Friday with late opening until 5pm on Thursdays. Waterford is well served with countless ATM machines, most of which will accept Cirrus.

Getting around

Waterford City is a small city and is easily navigated on foot. Bus Éireann provides services all over the South. For information on times, tickets and prices tel: ++ 353 1 836 6111 or log onto Bus Eireann. For information on rail services contact Iarnród Éireann at Irish Rail.

Parking

A disc parking system is operational in Waterford City Centre. Disks for on-street parking are available at numerous locations throughout the city, as well as at City Council offices, at a cost of €1.40 (one disc) per hour. Failure to display a disc results in clamping and heavy fines.

Shopping

Shopping hours are generally 9am-6pm Monday to Saturday with late opening until 8am on Thursday. Most shops are also now open on Sunday from 12pm-6pm.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted anywhere indoors in Waterford City, except in hotel rooms and private accommodation.
