Brittas Bay Wicklow - Ireland East

This is a tumbling rolling rising helter-skelter golfers’delight. Elevated tees, greens, sea-side holes – it is definitely one for your enjoyment. The European is a wonderful presentation of modern links with a truly traditional quality. As designer/owner Pat Ruddy advises, ‘one of the important principles of design is that the handicap golfer is meant to use a handicap stroke to achieve par’. Heed should be taken of this advice for the European is now rated among the top five in Ireland. The European Club hosted the Irish Professional Championship in July 2007, which was won by Padraig Harrington in a playoff. A mirror image of his great triumph in the Open Championship at Carnoustie a week later!
