Baltray Louth - Ireland East

More popularly called Baltray, this is a Tom Simpson classic. It is the permanent venue for the annual East of Ireland Amateur Championship and richly deserves the compliments it regularly receives from visitors from all parts of the globe. Originally opened in 1892, it was in the late 1930s Simpson laid it out much as it is today. Noted for its mix of small undulating greens, it offers the typical links challenge in the unpredictability of its fairways – the essence of traditional links.
