Fethard on Sea —County Wexford

Fethard On Sea is an ancient settlement, once the seat of a bishop whose castle holds the remains of Bishop Alexander Devereux, the colourful last Abbot of Dunbrody. It has a very distinctive coat of arms, and was allowed to return to members of Parliament until 1800. The monument there claims that the town was the home port of some of the bravest and most self sacrificing lifeboat men in the world.
