Irish Rail offers
Irish Rail in the Republic of Ireland has a number of rail deals for overseas visitors.
These include:
• Overseas visitors over the age of 66 can avail of special discounted return tickets between any two stations in the Republic of Ireland (does not apply to cross-border travel) for a maximum of €26. Offer is valid for a return journey within one month. To avail of this discount, customers must present a valid passport or national identity card at an Iarnród Éireann Ticket Office before travel and complete an application form on or before the date of travel. This offer is available from Station Ticket Offices only and cannot be issued from Ticket Vending Machines or via Irishrail.ie. For more information outside of booking, please call +353 1 8366 222.
• 50% discount on tickets booked online for travel on Saturdays and some services on Sundays during the summer period.
• For summer, a €20 Day Return fare from Dublin to anywhere in the Republic of Ireland by rail on Saturdays (€10 for children, €50 for a family of 2 adults and up to 4 children))
• Trekker ticket: four days unlimited travel anywhere on the Iarnród Éireann network for €100 - only available from the booking office.
• DART and Commuter Day Pass: €14.70 for unlimited travel for a family of 2 adults and up to 4 children - only available from the booking office.
