Glen of Aherlow Tipperary South Ireland South

Nestled within sight of the lush valley of the River Aherlow between the Galtee Mountains and the wooded ridge of Slievenamuck, the five looped walks (Woodland, Bianconi, Balinacourty, Rock an Thorabh and Millennium Stone) are renowned for the warmth of their welcome and the friendship of their people. Bounded by the pretty villages of Galbally and Bansha, the Glen was historically an important pass between neighbouring Limerick and Tipperary, so you’ll find a huge array of prehistoric, early Christian and medieval sites within the valley itself and in the hinterland.
