Choose the right spa for you
Ireland boasts more wonderful spas than you can shake an ESPA Sandalwood candle at. Our combination of natural resources and world-class amenities make for some seriously award-winning relaxation. Accolades come from the World Luxury Hotel Awards, to Forbes Magazine to Conde Nast Traveller. The only slightly stressful thing is how to choose between them.
All the spas in the Republic of Ireland are approved by Fáilte Ireland – which means they’ve undergone rigorous independent assessments to be included here.
We’ve established four main types of Spas to help you decide which one will hit your spot:
Destination Spas
‘Welcome’ says the Destination Spa, ‘here’s your robe and slippers, would you fancy a swim before your massage?’
Expect total immersion in the spa experience, in a place dedicated to health, fitness and relaxation. There’ll be scheduled activities such as yoga, pilates and relaxation classes, and plenty of wet spa experiences. Your ‘ahhhhhhhh…’ is their specialty.
Resort Spas
The Resort Spa offers relaxation with a side of recreation. Usually an estate or mountain lodge, in a picture-perfect rural or seaside backdrop. Try a spot of golf, fishing, horse riding, tennis, cycling, archery or walking, before your spa treatments.
Hotel Spas
Our hotels can multi-task with some wonderful results. These hotels offer a full Spa facility on top of the usual hospitality we’re famous for. Further categories of hotel spas makes distinction between Comprehensive facilities in at least a 4 star hotel, to a Leisure Club Hotel Spa that’s minimum 3 star. Either way you’re promised relaxation at your hotel room doorstep.
Specialised Retreats
Seaweed – who knew it could make you feel like a million dollars inside and out? Well, it can. Specialised Retreats are rather groovy little spa gems where you slide into seaweed baths, steam in saunas and let crisp clean air soak into every pore like the most delicious natural tonic ever. We’re feeling relaxed even writing about it…
