Clonmellon —County Westmeath
Clonmellon is an enchanting old world village on the Westmeath / Meath border. Situated to the east of the village are the ruins of Killua Castle, built in 1780 and reputed to be the birth place of Laurence of Arabia. Close by is a monument commemorating the introduction of the potato into Ireland by Sir Walter Raleigh.
