Trad um Thráthnóna is a series of four traditional music sessions being held in venues where one would not normally experience Irish music on a daily basis. The first of the sessions will be held in Derrynane House, the ancestral home of Daniel O’Connell, on Sunday 29.07.12 and subsequent weeks will see the sessions taking place in the Skellig Chocolate Factory (Sunday 12.08.12), in an enterprise unit in Forbairt na Dromoda (Sunday 19.08.12) and in the Cill Rialaig Art Gallery (Sunday 26.08.12) . All venues have ample parking facilities, disabled access, toilet facilities. Café facilities are available in Derrynane, Cill Rialaig and Skellig Chocolate. Directions • Derrynane House – From Caherciveen follow the Ring of Kerry road in a southerly direction to Caherdaniel. Then follow the road through the village of Caherdaniel towards the beach to access the National Park and Derrynane House • Skellig Chocolate Factory - having left Caherciveen and heading south along the Ring of Kerry road, take a right turn for St Finan’s Bay as marked. Skellig Chocolate factory is to be found overlooking the beach. • Ionad na Dromod – having left Caherciveen and heading south along the Ring of Kerry road, take a left turn at St Finian’s Church just outside Waterville and continue along this road for Killeenleigh • Cill Rialaig (Art Gallery) - having left Caherciveen and heading south along the Ring of Kerry road, take a right turn for Ballinskelligs as marked. Cill Rialaig gallery is located in the middle of the village.
