Golflegende Christy O’Connor Senior was vroeger een vaste bezoeker van deze baan. Zelfs nu, hoewel hij de 80 is gepasseerd, komt hij er regelmatig drie of vier holes lopen. The Royal Dublin maakt deel uit van een beschermd natuurgebied, waar het hele jaar door prachtige flora en fauna te zien zijn. De zesde, zevende en achtste hole zijn de laatste jaren aanzienlijk verbeterd en ook het clubhuis, met panoramisch uitzicht over de greens en Dublin Bay, is gemoderniseerd.
