Toen Ierland in 2003 de Paralympics organiseerde, zijn vele openbare gebouwen en attracties toegankelijk gemaakt voor rolstoelgebruikers. Daarnaast hebben steeds meer restaurants, pubs, hotels en guesthouses faciliteiten voor gehandicapte bezoekers.
