Kilcormac —County South Offaly
Once known as Frankfurt, in the middle ages it had a Carmelite priory from where a 14th century missal survives in the library of Trinity College. Fragments from the priory are displayed in the local church alongside a 16th century pieta found in a local bog. Working of the surrounding bogland also uncovered a hunting site dating from the middle of the Stone Age at Lough Boora.
