Wist u dat?

De voorstad Dun Laoghaire aan de zuidkant van Dublin werd in 480 door de toenmalige koning Laoire gesticht. De burcht van Laoire hield stand tot hij in 1803 moest plaatsmaken voor een torenvormig kustfort dat een dreigende invasie van Napoleon moest afweren. Het kustfort staat er nog steeds en huisvest nu het James Joyce Museum.
