In het historische County Armagh in Noord-Ierland  vindt u een aantal van de meest fascinerende bezienswaardigheden van Ierland. De stad Armagh, de vroegere hoofdstad van Ulster, wordt ook wel de Stad van St. Patrick genoemd. Het was de geboortestad van Brian Boru en tevens de kerkelijke hoofdstad van Ierland.

Het hedendaagse Armagh heeft de bezoeker een heel scala aan attracties te bieden, van historische bouwwerken tot levendige pubs. En zodra u de stad uit bent, betreedt u Orchard County, de Betuwe van Ierland – een schitterende streek met appelboomgaarden die in de lente het hele landschap teerroze kleuren. 

In County Armagh vindt u ook talloze natuurmonumenten, kinder-attracties, musea, landschapsparken en culturele evenementen.

De schrijfster van een aantal zeer bekende christelijke gezangen zoals All Things Bright and Beautiful en Once in Royal David’s City, bracht bijna haar hele leven in Noord-Ierland door. Cecil Francis Alexander (1818-1895) was getrouwd met William Alexander, aartsbisschop van Armagh en primaat van de Kerk van Ierland.
