Limerick is de derde stad van de Ierse Republiek, fraai gelegen aan een van de meest schilderachtige rivieren van Ierland, de Shannon, County Limerick. 

Deze bruisende moderne stad werd in de negende eeuw door de Noormannen veroverd en heeft een rijk middeleeuws verleden dat in de oude straatjes nog tastbaar aanwezig is.

Naast het internationaal vermaarde Hunt Museum met zijn bijzondere kunstcollectie, met werken van Picasso, Da Vinci en Renoir, heeft Limerick een prachtige middeleeuwse wijk met als middelpunt het 800 jaar oude King John’s Castle.

Limerick is, kortom, een bruisende, levendige en opwindende bestemming met een weelde aan winkels, heerlijke restaurants en genoeglijke verwenhotels. En een prima uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes naar de schitterende omgeving!
