Summerhill —County Meath
The pleasant village of Summerhill with a green that runs down the middle of the main street was designated to complement the approach to the Georgian mansion and Lynch's Castle .The castle was abandoned early in the 18th century when the mansion was built. Now all that remains are the ruins of the castle, the mansion was burned down in the 1922 Civil War. The ruins lie on private grounds. There is an interesting 15th century stone cross and also medieval markers at the village green.
