Relatively speaking, Banbridge in County Down is quite a young town that owes its success to the flax and linen industry. By 1772, it was actually the principle linen-producing district in Ireland. These days, the town and the surrounding area enjoy a rich assortment of places to visit including the Brontë Homeland Drive and Ferguson's Irish Linen Centre.
