Was it the oysters that made your mouth water? Or did your feet start tapping at the sight of the bodhrán? Whatever it was, it’s time you discovered your very own Ireland.

Take a taste of the good stuff
Tuck into some delicious food and drink with a whirlwind trip to Ireland. Enjoy the cuisine and craic at Crosskey’s Inn in  County Antrim, or sample scrumptious delights at one of our many farmers’ markets, like the one that gets the People’s Park in Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, buzzing every weekend. Over in the west, you can celebrate the fine art of oyster shucking at the Galway International Oyster Festival. Or you could even  take to the open road and stop off at picturesque Passage East, County Waterford, to delve into some magnificent shellfish at the annual Mussel Festival.

If it’s history and heritage you’re seeking…
Across the length and breadth of the country, you’ll find jaw-dropping sites marking historical moments that are the stuff of legends. Take the Walls of Londonderry, the only completely walled city in the British Isles and resounding with 1,450 years of history. Marvel at the isolation of the Aran Islands’ Dun Aonghasa, an ancient stone fort perched almost 300ft above sea level. The Rock of Cashel in  County Tipperary is home to a splendid medieval complex dating back to 1014AD, while over in Wicklow, the garden of Ireland presents the immaculate Powerscourt House & Gardens, with its stunning architecture and sky-high fountains. Inland in  Offaly, take a step back in time at 6th century Clonmacnoise overlooking the River Shannon. While up north in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, you’ll find fine castles nestled alongside the sublimely beautiful Fermanagh Lakes.

Enjoy views unparalled anywhere else in the world
Ireland is made up of a rich tapestry of scenery and vistas, such as the dramatic Cliffs of Moher in  County Clare, which plunge 214metres into the choppy Atlantic Ocean and boast outstanding views over the Connemara hills and Aran Islands. While in  Donegal, take a walk on the wild side through the magnificent Glenveagh National Park, where cultivated gardens and vivid forestry lie side by side.

And not forgetting our urban life, of course
As a city break destination, Ireland’s key cities are hip, vibrant and totally cosmopolitan –without losing the unique quality that makes Ireland and the Irish so appealing. Discover where Molly Malone wheeled her wheelbarrow in  Dublin, one of Europe’s most thrilling capitals; have a ball in  Belfast, a wonderful Victorian city with stacks of things to do; unearth the meaning of craic in  Cork; embrace the laid-back atmosphere in  Galway; live it up in lovely  Limerick; or enjoy history and a host of attractions in the hauntingly beautiful  Londonderry.
