Renvyle —County Galway

The peninsula of Renvyle, one of Europe's most westerly, was best described by Augustus John - 'the most beautiful landscape in the world'. It was the inspiration for renowned works of art by Yeats, Gogarty and Oscar Wilde, and remains unchanged today.
The modern cinema world has captured some of the romance and beauty of Renvyle in the film 'The Quiet Man' and more recently 'The Field'.
Its castles, ancient forts and ecclesiastical remains, are prized gifts of an epic past.
Here, you can experience traditional Ireland with a stay in a thatched cottage and a night of song in the Teach Ceoil (Folk Theatre) or local pubs. Breathe its fresh clean air whilst walking or cycling along its country lanes, garlanded with bright red fuchsia and many wild flowers.
Relaxing on the peaceful sandy beaches is just part of the unique and unforgettable experience of Renvyle.
