The Newry and Mourne Women’s Mini Marathon will take place on Sunday 28 July 2013 and is a 10k event for women only. With running and outdoor recreation on the increase there has been an increasing demand for this type of event. However we didn’t want to bring you just another road race. Drawing on feedback from local runners, we have designed a 10k route which will take you into the beautiful countryside that Newry and Mourne has to offer, whilst keeping you running / walking entirely on tarmac and on an ever decreasing gradient.

The start point is located just past an area known as “Leitrim Lodge” which is located between Rostrevor and Hilltown. After a short uphill section at the start the route continues past “Santa’s Cottage” before following a downhill route in the direction of Rostrevor passing Batts Wall and Yellow Water. On nearing Rostrevor the route turns left off the Newtown Road, up a small hill and onto the forest drive through Kilbroney Park for the final stretch. The race finishes in the same fantastic location as the Mourne Way Marathon events in Kilbroney Park.
