Spraoi is an international street arts festival. It is presented in Waterford, a medieval city located in the South East of Ireland. Spraoi (pronounced spree) is the gaelic word for fun and celebration. The festival has been presented annually since 1993. The Spraoi Parade, on Sat August 4th, the parade continues to be a highlight at Spraoi. So as the festival celebrates it’s 20th birthday, we are delighted to announce that the Spraoi Parade will return again as a night-time show in 2012. Details about the 2012 Spraoi Parade with time and route will be announced near to the date. The festival programme presents performances by street arts artists from around the world. The streets and squares of Waterford become a series of outdoor stage for three days and most performances are free. The programme includes; spectacle, music, acrobatics, visual-comedy and plenty of surprises. Spraoi caters for all ages. The festival programme begins each day at approximately 2.00 p.m. There are events throughout the afternoon and evening. Later at night most bars and some hotels have live music, with some musicians from the festival programme playing at these sessions.
