Dublin Festival of History

Dublin City

27 September 2013 - 10 October 2013

Calling all history buffs! 2013 is the year of the Gathering and the year when we mark the 100th anniversary of momentous historical events in the city of Dublin. The upheaval of the Dublin Lockout and the formation of James Connolly’s Irish Citizen Army are but two of a series of historical topics which will be explored in the new Dublin Festival of History. Hosted by Dublin City Public Libraries in various venues in the city, The Dublin Festival of History will draw Dubliners and visitors together to listen to and engage with famous Irish historians as well as historians of international renown. Visitors can explore their family roots in genealogical workshops and learn about the wonderful collections of historic and family history documents held in Dublin City Public Libraries. A full programme of events will be announced later in the year and will be available online as will online booking. NOTE: You should always click on The Gathering Website to check for any change of date, time and/or location - click on the website link on this page to take you directly to The Gathering website.
