An Góilín Traditional Singers' Club

Dublin City

06 September 2013 - 04 July 2014

An Góilín Traditional Singing Club simply provides a forum for unaccompanied traditional singing in any language. Singing starts at 9.30pm and goes on until approximately 12.30am. The master of ceremonies begins the night by nominating three singers, usually regular attendees, to sing the first three songs. Anyone present can then sing a song without invitation. If an invited guest is present, he or she will be introduced to the company by the master of ceremonies and will sing a total of eight songs during the night. During the break all present are asked to make a contribution towards the cost of running the club (€3.00). The night is brought to a close by the master of ceremonies and the person who sang the first song will sing the last song of the evening. A high standard of listening is required and those present are asked to give their full attention to all singers performing. The Góilín Club is not suitable for small children. Please contact us for further details.
