The WAR: Wicklow Adventure Race Glendalough is hailed by many as the most iconic adventure race in Ireland. This Glendalough course takes you along the Spink Run over the Sally Gap, along the challenging Djouce run and kayaking on the magical Lough Dan. Come test your endurance in one of the most spectacularly beautiful parts of Ireland. There is a choice of three courses WAR, the shorter WAR-Sport and for 2012 the new WAR Mini option. The mini competitors will run a loop, starting at the transition area in the upper Lake Car Park, they will run on the north side of the Lake to the miner's village and return. From this point on they follow the same route as the WAR Sport. Glendalough is part of a three race series; the two other locations are Glenmalure and Powerscourt. Distances: WAR – 21km run, 52km cycle and 2km kayak. WAR-Sport – 12km run, 30km cycle and 2km kayak. WAR-Mini – 8km run, 30km cycle and 2km kayak.
