Dublin: One City, One Book is an award-winning Dublin City Council initiative which encourages everyone to read a book connected with the capital city during the month of April every year. Enjoy reading 'Strumpet City' by James Plunkett this year and experience some of the wide variety of events taking place. During the month of April Strumpet City will be brought to life through music and readings in city wide locations. There will also be talks on a wide range of topics relating to the book, tenement life in 1913 and the 1913 lockout - a pivotal event in Irish history.
