Tory Island Bank Holiday Adventure

24 August 2012 - 27 August 2012

Experience the Wild West in unique style. Tory Island is the most remote inhabited island around the Irish coastline. It's culture and environment remains largely preserved and protected, evidenced by the continued nesting of the corncrake which has disappeared from large swathes of the mainland. Tory affords visitors a warm welcome and absolutely unique experiences of Irish wilderness. Our adventure weekend includes hiking, coasteering, kayaking, climbing, wild camping and environmental education in the east and remote north side of the island, including the spectacular Tor Mor. Far and Wild links adventure experiences with learning about local communities and environmental education. Our Tory Island Adventure Weekend is our gold standard of this work. Friends groups, couples, individuals, families welcome. Participants can come for the whole experience or choose a day/s to attend. Families with children can come but note your itinerary will vary as some activities are not suitable for young children- we will provide age-appropriate activities. Ferry to Tory Island departs from Magheraroarty and Bunbeg. Information can be accessed via Toryislandferry.com For our weekend the Ferry will depart at 17.00hrs on Friday 24th August from Magheraroarty and return from Tory Island at 16.00hrs on Monday 27th August
