On Our Hurling Experience you will hear about the History of Hurling and understand our passion for the sport feel the excitement of the fastest game in the world experience the skills of the game from our hurling guides’ see the craftsmanship of the hurley making with Local Craftsman James O Keeffe and taste’ the best of Irish food at Lanigan’s Traditional Irish Bar & Restaurant in the Heart of Kilkenny City. Kilkenny the Hurling Capital of Ireland to experience a 3000 year old Celtic game which is regarded as the World’s Oldest and fastest Outdoor Field game. Hurling is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic origin, administered by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The game has prehistoric origins, has been played for at least 3,000 years, and is the world's fastest field team game in terms of game play. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games There is a similar game for women called Camogie. Kilkenny is regarded as the Home of Hurling Champions having won 33 All Ireland Senior Titles and are known as the Kilkenny Cats. Having won 8 titles since 2000 they are referred to as The “All Blacks Of Hurling” .
