The Strawberry Festival is one of Ireland's oldest and most diverse of festivals. There is music from local and national artists, our Strawberry Princesses and opening night Ball leading to a selection of the Strawberry Queen who will be entered into the Rose of Tralee Competition, a new Sportive event, an All-Ireland Farmers Market, a singing pubs competition, a music competition for teenagers and loads of children's activities and fringe events and more!. The Strawberry Festival hopes to attract as many people home to Enniscorthy and Wexford from other countries for the festival with the help of the Gathering Ireland 2013. If you are an international musician, drop us an email with a You Tube link to your act and the days you will be in Enniscorthy … as we just may be able to schedule onto the Chalk Board Busker and Art Trail or main stage !! Beside the Dragon sportive, other new 2013 events are WeXposE : a fashion show and parade hosted by Rosanna Davison, former Miss World; “Taste of Wexford Strawberries” a cook off of chefs and homebakers featuring our regional food; the strawberry with demonstrations such as how to grow your own strawberries; and the Presentation Arts Centre’s Spoken Word showcasing local and national writers, the talent of young writers under 12 and dramatic theatre. A host of local and national music acts will play across 3 fantastic days of Free music on the main concert big top with a capacity for 1500 people and room for up to 3000 to hear the top and hot Irish talent. There is an Art Exhibition of local talented artists as well as a children’s art section. Our Wexfactor Under 25s Music Competition will start mid May and the participation of over 30 licensed premises in the Pub Talent Competition will start two weeks prior to the festival kicking off. On Sunday, the Dragon Sportive will also be a big part of the festival with cyclists from all over Ireland and Europe travelling to take part. The All Ireland Farmers market has competitors' from all over Ireland taking part and also a huge number of visitors on the day.
