Ennis Trad Festival

Ennis

07 November 2013 - 11 November 2013

The 20th Ennis Trad Festival is one of the largest Irish winter festivals and presents the highest quality traditional music, song and dance performances. One of the last Gatherings of 2013, it has a party atmosphere and is highly regarded by those who appreciate music performance in an informal setting. This five-day event headlines concerts featuring the best-loved acts in Irish music in a club atmosphere where musicians and the public rub shoulders. Ennis is the location of choice for many family-friendly CD launch/concerts by the most respected artists. Ard Ghaisce na mBuíonta (The Great Céilí Band Challenge) goes from strength to strength with an ever-increasing number of highly competitive céilí bands from Ireland, England and the USA, battling before a voting audience. Masterclasses in sean nós and set dancing present an opportunity to dance at a monster céilí. Instrument Masterclasses for improver and advanced alike are available from a huge pool of experts. For a modern introduction and a ball of fun there is the now infamous Trad Disco. If you want to test your knowledge there is the hilarious Trad Table Quiz with fun prizes. The real highlight and its what makes the festival internationally renowned is its hosting of hundreds of the powerful music sessions. This is a festival you will want to attend annually.
