Eleanor Craig's Home Made Butter Fudge

Add to My Ireland Larne Antrim - Northern Ireland

The idea for Eleanor Craig’s Homemade Butter Fudge came to me in December 2008 when my mother-in-law passed down an age-old family fudge recipe to my husband and I (as the next generation). The family’s recipe was renowned locally in Ballycarry for its high quality taste and texture. Our first sale opportunity occurred when the local Ballycarry village committee asked my husband and I if we could supply a batch of fudge to the local village fair. Enthused by the Ballycarry fair success, I pitched the product to local convenience stores for a period of three months and by end of March 2009 I was successfully supplying 30 retail outlets – it was at this point I made the decision to become self-employed and the Eleanor Craig’s Homemade Butter fudge seed had sprouted.

Fifteen months on I am successfully hand producing, and selling Eleanor Craig’s Homemade Butter Fudge to 60 retail outlets across Northern Ireland. I am currently working from my own home-based kitchen in Islandmagee. Most weekends, I attend farmer’s markets, game fairs or agricultural shows to sell my product and I also supply weddings and private functions.

Eleanor Craig’s fudge is produced to the very highest standards; is distinctive in taste, texture and quality. It has a crumbly texture and melts instantly in your mouth. There are no added preservatives nor colourings - just good, old-fashioned, traditional cooking techniques and ingredients.
