Add to My Ireland Carrickfergus Antrim - Northern Ireland

Located on Monument Road off the B90 on the escarpment overlooking Greenisland. This is the County Antrim War Memorial, 110 feet high and built of concrete blocks. It is dedicated to those from the County who lost their lives in the two World Wars. The Monument was completed in 1936 and rededicated after World War Two.

Designed by Henery Seaver and Henry Barton who inspired the project. The eight local district councils in County Antrim recently funded the restoration of the Monument.
