The Jarrow Cafe

The Jarrow Café is located in the beautiful and spacious oak timbered visitor centre at Castlecomer Discovery Park in County Kilkenny. Open 7 days a week, the emphasis at Jarrow’s is on using fresh ingredients and local food producers to create and serve a variety of delicious treats, teas and coffees, breakfast and lunch. Try their homemade brown bread, or colourful salad bowls, in particular their popular Goatsbridge Smoked Trout Salad Bowl. The famous secret recipe Sticky Toffee Pudding, said by many customers to be the best they have ever tasted is the perfect pick-me-up after a walk around the adjacent woodlands of the Discovery Park. Alternatively, experience their locally sourced Lavistown Chilli Sausages with Roast Root Vegetables, or the Parmesan and Hazelnuts and Lamb Shank with Mileevan Honey and rosemary. Anna and Evan Stewart have run The Jarrow Café at the Discovery Park since 2007. The location of the café is complementary to the range of activities available in the Park which is home to the Footprints in Coal Exhibition, a Tree Top Walk, children’s playground, fishing lakes, woodland walks and craft studios. Ample car parking is available and the large and spacious restaurant is all on one level, making it easily accessible for families with buggies and special needs individuals and groups.
