Kathleen’s workshop is also her selling and teaching venue. It is not “flash” but incorporates all the aspects of her work both making and growing of the willow and spinning wool as well as weaving. Teaching basket making on a one to one basis but also teaches groups when asked and it is possible to have a go at the basketry while you are in the workshop. While in the Workshop there is an amazing smell of willow and it is possible to see the willow growing, soaking to make it pliable and in storage. It is possible to order a bespoke item which includes choosing the colours of willow you want from the stored willow. Parking is for private cars but there is no room for buses. Kathleen live in a most interesting part of the world as the River Boyne is one of the boundaries of my farm where she keep hens, ducks, cattle and horses. The Royal Canal is located very near so walks can be taken as part of the day’s outing. It is quite accessible, being just off the M4 motorway.
