De Bucket Bar

Martin & Mary O'Dea and their friendly staff will be delighted to welcome you to O'Dea's Bar - De Bucket. It is a traditional family run pub which was built circa 1840. The building was originally a Toll House where turf boats anchored on their way from County Clare with their deliveries up river to Adare. The river patio attached to the pub is an ideal venue to sip a pint of Guinness or enjoy a plate of Irish Smoked Salmon served on Josephine's home made brown bread. We have a very diverse business catering for both the locals and the busy passing trade from the N69 road between Limerick and Kerry. Because the premises is full of character it is easy to relax and enjoy your drink whether it be an Irish coffee or a Guinness, a Barry's Tea or a soda. See details of our bar food menu below. All sporting events can be viewed on our big screen and don't miss All Ireland Hurling or Football Final days in September! If you have any racing 'tips' when there is a meeting at nearby Limerick Racecourse at Greenmount, Patrickswell perhaps you will call in and maybe we can exchange one with you while watching the live racing channel! As our motto is "Continue to support your local" , we host Table Quiz's during the winter for different local clubs. During the summer we hold Bar-B-Q's on behalf of local charities and a local club runs a River Duck Race organised from the pub. Music is provided some weekends. The Kildimo ICA in conjunction with the Bealtaine Festival hold an Art Exhibition each May and the Kildimo Book Club meet on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss their book of the month. A 'Knitting & Nattering' group meet on Thursday afternoons during November and a 45 Card Game is organised every Sunday in December so you can see that we have 'buckets' of entertainment at De Bucket Bar Food Menu: Our bar food menu is renowned for its simplicity and quality. Healthy locally sourced vegetable soup, variety of sandwiches and salads, organic apple pie, Irish beef and ham on the bone are just a few samples and everything is home cooked. All types of parties and family gatherings are catered for. Local Attractions: O'Dea's Bar - De Bucket is situated just 3km from Carrigogunnell Castle ruin dating back to the 15th Century, which stands on a volcanic rock. Heading north from the pub for about 9km you will reach the award winning village of Adare where you will find two renowned Golf Clubs one of which is attached to the beautiful Adare Manor. Heading a few kilometres West of the pub on the N69 you will find lots of attractions such Celtic Park & Gardens which date back to Cromwell in the 1800's; Stonehall Visitor Farm in Kilcornan where you will find a wide variety of domestic and rare breed animals; Kilcornan Karting for the adventurous and of course Curraghchase Forest Park where the home of the poet Aubrey De Vere still stands.
