Closed one week up to and including 25th December and re-opens on Stephens Day - 26th Decmber. Remaining open all through the holiday season and New Year.
- Annual Festival: Annual Festival - Maritime Matters May Bank Holiday Weekend On the grounds of Hook Lighthouse this 2 day event showcases the rescue services, fun for all the family, holistic tent, local crafts, music and more. Art classes for adults and children at the Lighthouse all year round with Resident Artist, Rose Finn.
Hook Lighthouse Visitor Centre
Lighthouses have a magic and mysticism of their own, none more so than the 13th Century Hook Lighthouse, Relax by the sea and keep an eye out for seals, dolphins and even whales. Hook lighthouse, is one of the oldest operational lighthouses in the World. Marking the entrance to Waterford Harbour for at least two thousand years. The present structure, the medieval tower of Hook, is about 800 years old – one of the oldest operational lighthouses in the world. Relax and enjoy a meal in the Lighthouse café or have a leisurely browse in the craft shop. The former keeper’s houses now play host to visitor facilities, while retaining the elegant facades of their late Victorian build. Facilities for the disabled are provided in the visitors centre, but the tower itself by its nature will not be accessible to the disabled.
