- Directions: From Portmagee: Take the bridge to Valentia Island, then turn right on to the R565 towards Knightstown (about 6km or 3.5 miles). When you see the Protestant church on the left, turn left, and the Centre is about 40 yards further. Look for the signs on the right, along with a sign for the Garda Station.
- Opening Times: 1st April - 30th September Daily: 11.00am - 5.00pm daily seven days a week (other times by arrangement).
- Admission Prices: Adult: €3 Party of four: €8 Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more

The Valentia Heritage Centre, in County Kerry, describes itself as 'not a museum so much as a meeting place of today and yesterday, of you and us. No reverent hush, but a hubbub of lively conversation as people describe and compare their own histories and lifestyles.' The Centre is housed in the former Knightstown National School, which was built in 1861, extended in 1911, and closed in 1976. There are three main display rooms: the School Room; Island and Harbour; and The Transatlantic Telegraph. In our ever more crowded, busy world, Valentia still offers a haven to the traveller, a tranquil, easy going pace of life, a small, welcoming community which invites you to share its own special place.
