Russborough House

Russborough is a stunning palladian mansion set just 2 kilometres past Blessington overlooking the most stunning views in Ireland. Offering guided house tours with art, architecture and world famous inspiring artifacts from across the globe and stories from our expert guides Russborough is a truely unique experience. Russborough showcases one of the most unique exhibitions in the basement with stories, history, travel all explored by the Beits who kindly gifted Russborough to the Irish public in care of the Alfred Beit Foundation. Indeed this mansion is a treasure trove of history and activity. Given that Sir Alfred Beit gifted so many valuable paintings to the National Gallery after the robberies in the 1980s, Russborough were delighted with the arrival of beautiful paintings hanging on the walls of Russborough in the same place as they did in the Miltown era dating all the way back to 1752. The National Gallery exhibits on loan are the 'The Judgment of Paris' (Rubens) and 'The Triumph of David' (Guercino) done in the style of Peter Paul Rubens and Guercino they add such colour and history to an already stunning palladian mansion. With the recent addition of the 3D interactive exhibition telling stories of the Beits, and recent exhibits from the National Gallery Russborough is one of the most unique tourist attractions in many ways yet to be fully discovered. Host to vintage car rallies, plant fairs, outdoor concerts and a wide range of activities, Russborough is one of the most 'must see' attractions in Ireland today. The house will open on selected days throughout 2013. March, April & Oct, Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays, May 1- Sept 30, 10am-6pm, Heritage Week 10am-8pm
