Adjacent to the North Slobs sanctuary and Curracloe lies a nature reserve known as The Raven. Here a protected sand dune system supports a well developed dune vegetation, including a number of rare plant species. The Raven is also important for three mainbird groups which are, Greenland Whitefronted Geese, large numbers of waders which roost here throughout the year and several species of Tern which breed on the beach at the South end of the Reserve.
