  • Directions: By foot, a five minutes walk from Trinity College en route to Christchurch Cathedral. By bus, 50, 50A, 54, 56A, 77, 77A, 77B, 123 and 150 and a 10 minutes walk from the Jervis stop on the LUAS Red Line.
  • Opening Times: Monday to Saturday 10am to 5.15pm (last admission is one hour before closing). Closed on Sunday and bank holidays.
  • Admission Prices: Adult: €4 Child: €2 Senior/Student/Unwaged: €2 Family:€10 Group minimun number 10: €3 each.

The Story of the Capital Exhibition in the atmospheric vaults of Dublin City Hall, is an exciting multimedia exhibition which traces the evolution of Dublin City. Treasures of the city such as the Great Sword and mace of Dublin and the Lord Mayor's chains come together with video, medieval manuscripts, interactive computer displays and period costumes, to tell the story of the capital city. The exhibition takes just one hour and tells over 1000 years of the history of this unique and ever changing city. From trade to war, Dublin has had a colourful past.
