The Gathering Traditional Festival

Add to My Ireland Killarney Kerry - Ireland South

The Gathering Traditional Festival is firmly established as a popular celebration of Irish song and dance. It has grown in strength since its inception way back in 1999 and incorporates a finely tuned mix of concerts; céilís; dance workshops; instrument masterclasses; a musical tour to Sliabh Luachra; showcase gigs; and storytelling which is new to the 2013 programme. Other highlights include the Schools Outreach Music Programme and a session on the Lakes of Killarney aboard the Pride of the Lakes Waterbus. The stellar line-up of concerts include performances with Dervish, We Banjo 3, Mairead Ní Chathasaigh, Chris Newman, Arty McGlynn & Nollaig Casey, Tim Edey & Brendan Power, Micheal & Macdara O'Raghallaigh along with Catherine McEvoy. The programme also includes The Generations Concert of Sliabh Luachra including musicians Billy Clifford, Bryan O'Leary, Gearoid Dineen, Niamh Dalton and Mick, Michelle & Louise Mulcahy. The Gathering showcase gigs will take place throughout the weekend featuring up and coming musicians and bands. Special accommodation packages that include free entry to all the concerts and céilís are available at The Gleneagle Hotel - for enquiries and reservations call the hotel on +353 64 663 6000.
