- Getting to the start: Start in The Quays Shopping Centre overflow carpark

- Route: From the Quays Shopping Centre overflow car park, walk along the Fathom Line adjacent to the Newry Ship Canal for 0.5km into the City. Turn left and walk along the Dublin Road for 2.2km until Cloghogue Church is reached on the left hand side. Turn left and walk along Flagstaff Road for 0.5km until an offset crossroads is reached. Turn right onto Brogies Road and then left along a lane on to the Old A1. Proceed for a short distance and turn left on to Upper Fathom Road for 1km before turning left off-road again. Turn right on Flagstaff Road to the Flagstaff Viewpoint. Turn right on to Ferryhill Road and continue to Clontygora Court Tomb. Turn left and follow the waymarkers along Clontygora Hill and through Ravensdale Forest to Marble Bridge. From here follow the road to the A1 at the Carrickdale Hotel. Continue to Jonesborough and follow the Kilnasaggart Road for 2km. Follow the Carrickbroad Road and Carewamean Road to the forest section at Glendooey. From here a series of tracks and quiet lanes lead past the Urney Graveyard to Forkhill. From Forkhill follow the Longfield Road for 3km to the rear of Slieve Gullion Forest Park. Follow the footpath up the mountain for 0.75km to the forest drive. Continue down the forest drive to the Slieve Gullion Courtyard Centre. Continue on Ballintemple Road to Killevy Old Churches. Follow Church Road, through Murray's Crossroads and immediately turn left. Follow until the Tamnaghbane Road. Turn right and walk uphill for 1km. Access Camlough Forest Drive and follow to Carriveeny Road. Continue to Lime Kiln Road. Turn right and follow the road to Derrymore House.

Ring of Gullion Way
The route follows off road trails, quiet country lanes and forest tracks from the Quays Shopping Centre, Newry around the volcanic landscape of the Ring of Gullion AONB. Along its route ancient monuments and quiet villages can be discovered before reaching Derrymore House near Bessbrook.
