Kilddysert —County Clare

Situated 22km from Ennis on the western shores of the River Fergus, Killadysert derives its name from the 'Cill an Disirt Morthuille', meaning the 'church of the hermitage'. The remains of a medieval parish church can still be seen. There are a number of islands in the estuary facing the village. Canon Island, Inis Gad, has a ruin of an early 13th century priory of the Canons Regular of St. Augustine.
