Glenbeigh —County Kerry
The picturesque village of Glenbeigh is a popular holiday destination nestled at the foot of a well wooded mountain and close to the head of Dingle Bay. Many Fianna legends centre around the village of Glenbeigh where Diarmuid and Grainne are believed to have spent some days hiding in a cave in the valley of the Behy and Rossbeigh is said to be the location where Oisin and Niamh took to the sea on their white horse to live in the land of youth - Tir na nOg.
The area is a popular destination for families due to the superb Blue Flag beach at Rossbeigh which is located 1.5 km from the village of Glenbeigh. The sandy beach which stretches for over 6.5 km, offers spectacular views across the bay to the Dingle Peninsula. This is a popular swimming and walking spot for locals and visitors alike.
